The Personal Touch service option includes a face-to-face meeting with the wedding DJ or MC of your choice, from our veteran Personal Touch Certified Staff, for an additional charge of $100. When Will I Be Able to Speak with My Wedding DJ?
You can speak with your wedding DJ as early as you wish, as soon as your online event planner is complete. A personalized phone consultation with your wedding DJ is normally scheduled one to two weeks before your reception, so that you have finalized all your plans by the time you touch base. Our brides unanimously agree; it is great to get to check-in with your wedding DJ once you have all the details worked out for your wedding. That way you don’t have to reconnect when you fine tune those subtle but oh-so-important last minute details.
What is the Difference between Sounds Unlimited and Other Wedding DJs?
Every one of our wedding DJs has gone through our Professional Training program and has been certified before they ever get near a client’s wedding on their own. When you ask other wedding DJs: “How were you trained?” they will all reply that they were trained on the job, by experience, school of hard knocks, etc. Of course, that’s just another way of saying: “I have had no real professional training!” You can count on our wedding DJs to get it right at your wedding.
So What’s the Big Deal About Professional Training?
Being a great Wedding DJ or MC isn’t easy. And DJing or MCing your wedding without professional training is a bit like driving a car…without anyone ever teaching you how to drive. With professional training you learn what to do and what not to do, how to avoid making embarrassing mistakes (for everyone), and how to steer clear of accidents. While it is possible for someone to drive a car, or to DJ your wedding, without any real training, it’s certain there will be a lot of accidents along the way. And they will never be prepared for all the emergencies or special circumstances that pop up, even if they have been driving or DJing for years. It’s definitely not safe or the best choice for something as important as your wedding day.
How Do Other Wedding DJs Learn To DJ Weddings?
They learn from their mistakes. They try it one way, and if that doesn’t work, well, they try it a different way at the next wedding. The problem is that a wedding is very complicated and intricate; it’s not like a simple dance party where it’s only about the music. There are special announcements, formalities, extended families, issues with timing and pace, etc. A “learn as you go DJ” will continue to learn from the mistakes they make for years to come, including the ones they will make at your wedding.
